Great avatar leo65. Have you read his autobiography 'Wired' its scary. How the guy lived as long as he did is a miracle!!!

He used to go on benders with (amongt others) Keith Richards, Keith moon and Robert de niro (oh yes my friends Robert was a big druggie)

Great story though...

music

getting back to music & considering a fair % of posters here are rock influenced, a few recommendations.

magnum - into the valley of the moon king
excellent classic rock from a very underated band (brilliant live too!)

chickenfoot - chickenfoot( )
latest in the line of 'supergroups'. some pretty tasty riffs from satriani & co.

joe bonamassa - the ballad of john henry
classic rock & blues from the extremely talented guitarist.

this ones for sandman if he's tuning in, i know he likes a good 'blowout' number.
turn the volume up to eleven  :D :D

I checked out 'Chickenfoot' a while back on youtube and to be honest considering the lineup I was very dissapointed with the standard of the songs.

It just sounded like the same old stuff when it should have been fantastic...

oh well, you can't please 'em all  :D
i wouldn't say the album is a classic, but there are several pretty banging tracks on there, but each to his own

Twisted Sister: I Wanna Rock & We're Not Gonna Take It
Quiet Riot: Mamma Were All Crazee Now
Zodiac Mindwarp: Prime Mover

with Flower of Scotland thrown in (by the Red Hot Chilli Pipers) to annoy the lads over the road as they hate bagpipes

TOOOOOOOONNNS!

A little Lynyrd Skynyrd... OOOh, that smell! Cancha smell that smell!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

nice thing is mate that even after 22 years my lace up legged leather kecks still fit!

almost worth going home for

laughing my ass off at the lads dog going mental...seems it hates bagpipes as well.... that'll teach em to sing karaoke at 7am.

whilst on the topic of aural warfare tunes that seem to scare the shit out of Thai teens add these to your list:

Anything with bagpipes
Anything sung in Russian by the Red Army Choir
Anything by the Viox de Mysteres (Bulgarian Womens State Choir)...especially Pilitzen Pee or Kaval Siri
Anything by Sepultura
Wagner (Gottendamerung/Death March of Siegfried)
Soundgarden

I would urge everyone to check out 'Hayseed Dixie'. This bluegrass outfit record everything from ACDC, Black Sabbath to Queen and Kiss.

They give everything the twiddly banjo treatment and apart from being foot tappingly hillarious they are also top notch musicians.

Once you hear them you will have to buy a cd or two...

A friend of mine saw them last year at the Brixton academy and stated that they were the best band he'd ever seen live, and he's seen all the top noddies.
