Aerial Invasion?

Post by PeteC »

This thing just came struggling over my house a few minutes ago. It was so close with engine roaring I could see the operators in the bottom section. By the time I went to get the camera it was where you see it.

It's headed towards U-Tapao Navy Base. I had no idea they even operated blimps here, although I may have read something that they may start using them for aerial observation posts in 3 problem provinces in the South. Maybe this is the testing phase. Pete

Nice neighborhood Pete!

I hope that thing doesn't hit the water tower... :D
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

OIC! I was looking at the photo with the wrong perspective and thought that was a large water tower in the distance... now that I look closer I see them all up and down the street...

No, that's the inside of HHF's house. Mine is below. Good in that we got here early enough to get two lots, and I've got a dead end street all to myself. That white aluminum frame glass room is where these bones sit and post on here everyday. 8) Pete

In reference to your UFO Pete, I was at the Hua Hin Civil Aviation Training School today, and asked if anybody knew about the Blimp. Had some problem convincing them just what I was talking about, but they all claimed no knowledge of it.

I think that you are correct about using it in the South, but I am not sure that I would want to be sitting in it at low altitude!

Nice place Pete!

I still see the goodyear blimp here in California sometimes. I think it's only used for advertising now.

It was going up and down at U-Tapao all day. It had a real problem with even the slightest winds we were having, no more than 7-8 KPH. It just bobbed up and down about 2 meters with each gust. It really looked like pilot training and that's what it may be. We'll see what this morning brings. You're right about low altitudes. The bad guys down there wouldn't hesitate to empty a few clips into it. Pete

No, it's bigger than those with two men in it and an old cranky sounding prop engine sticking out of the bottom. It has some years on it by it's appearance. It's not around today, however it's quite windy here. Pete

Thanks for all the kind comments concerning the house. It's a work in progress both in and out and probably always will be. I get the shakes each time I see the wife standing in front of a wall with her hand on her chin and muttering Hmmmm? Pete
