Problem created, problem solved

Post by Farang »

Day before yesterday I sent by DHL some brochures and other written materiel to a friend in Europe.
Few hours after I visited the local DHL office to dispatch and pay the shipment I got a call from them.

It appeared that in Bkk they had scanned the contents and now demanded an extra 1.5+ Kbaht from me,
else they return the shipment. This was due to contents being something else as documents only.
I was in a hurry and paid the ransom demanded even fully well knowing there was a mistake somewhere.
then made a complaint to DHL over the net. They contacted me quickly and now shall return the extra payment.

DHL Bkk head office acted swiftly and efficiently to remedy the matter.

Equivalent to a minor miracle I would say.

I hope they took similarly swift action with the attempted scammers

After much wrangling I actually got back the 1.5KB the local DHL representative black-mailed out of me.
I have demanded some sort of explanation, but gotten zilch. They do not even reply to my emails.

In my opinion the local firm tried to pull a fast one. Needless to say I'll never use their services again.
Thailand Post has a EMS service, that's what I'll use from now.

I've used EMS for the last 5 years any time I need to send something important internationally. The service has always been fast and reliable, though the prices have increased recently.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
