I asked a friend about the cost of security boxes. He said he paid a deposit fee of 25.000.- Baht
The annual rent is 3.000.- Baht. For that sum you get a deposit box a bit bigger than A4 form.
The price is varying from bank to bank.
Will check later (tomorrow) with Bank of Ayudyha if this is correct information.

I promised to come back with more info of security boxes so here we go.
Bank of Ayudhya says there are no boxes available now, but new boxes are purchased and will soon be installed.

First you have to place an order for a box to be able to get one.
Just call your bank and they will reserve a box for you.

There are 4 different sizes. They say: 2-4-8-12.

Small box (no 2) cost 600.- Bt/yr + 7% tax and you need to have 14.000.-Bt on your bank account as a sort of deposit.

Big box (no 4) cost 2.400.-Bt/yr + 7% tax and you must have 25.000.-Bt on your account.

For the key you have to pay 3.000.- Bt + 250Bt tax.

You have to hurry to be able to obtain a box, they have been quite popular now.

Thanks Norseman, It'll be a while before I'll be thinking about if I need one, but useful to know they are there.
