Fires

Post by PeteC »

Do you folks over there have grass fires this time of year? I really hope not. I'm out in the boonies north of Pattaya with about a 3 acre empty lot next to me with tall grass that went up tonight. 8 houses only in our complex and the fire almost jumped the 6' wall and ate one. Dry as a bone up here again and I really think some buggers who own vacant land set these things on purpose to clear the land to make it look more attractive for sale purposes. UGGGH. Singed Pete

Pete,

I am not surprised that you have had no response to this one.

Wildfires are not heard of in Thailand as far as I am aware. You will probably need to do some research on the www to confirm this.

Your suggestion is highly likely though. Also it maybe a couple of kids or pissheads having a laugh.

Widfires do not happen here generally as the conditions are not right. You need long periods of drought and a dry atmosphere for them to happen.

The vast majority of fires are caused by man, sometimes deliberatley and sometimes by acts af sheer stupity.
