I haven't heard of any service like that, and the only helicopters I've seen fly over since I've been here have been military.

You can get some pretty good aerial type photos of Hua Hin and Takiab from the various viewpoints of Hin Lek Fai and also from the balcony around the restaurant on the top of the Hilton. Depending on where your house is and what kind of telephoto lens you have you may also be able to get a photo of your house from one of these places.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I have read about such a service in the Phuket Gazette a few years ago. They took the pictures with a radio controlled helicopter.
Try and google and you might find. Lost the name of the company.
Anyway good idea and for sure cheaper then with a real aircraft.

Gunnar,

I've had a look around the net and have found this http://www.skypixthailand.com/

I've found other sites offering the same service, but they add on their %. 12,000 Baht for 72 pics sounds reasonable to me.

There's also: http://www.skycaminternational.com/index.html

But I used: http://www.helicam-asia.com/
Don't know how they compare for price but they happened to be in town from Phuket and I needed it done quick. They visit HH when they have 2 or 3 jobs lines up. Service was excellent, re-done a 2 hour shoot without charge when the sun came out just as we were packing up to go.

Told them it'd be worth their while advertising on HHAD, might be worth contacting these 3 companies re: ad space, many developers, land traders, resorts and hotels use helicam pics and videos.

A small diversion in topic rather than starting a new thread. I see in the photos SJ a flat roof over the car port. They're building new houses where I am now and actually have a flat roof over part of the living area. I really don't trust them as have heard horror stories concerning water collecting and leaks as the concrete ages. Pete

Think it's the same company that you linked to earlier BB, but jayhawk has the letter 's' after 'pix', which I don't believe should be there!?

Right - thanks SJ. I'd forgotten what my link was, and just assumed it was going to be another.

Just to put some of the costs involved into perspective, the Robinson R22 helicopter based at the Civil Aviation Training School, Hua Hin Airport, has an hourly hire rate of: Baht 17,500. It is a two seat, piston engine machine.
The current, and only, Instructor operating this aircraft at the moment, was not very interested in doing anything like that.
There is also a "buffer zone" around the Royal Grounds, which introduce some restrictions. There is a general "paranoid" attitude with anything to do with Helicopters in Thailand. In addition, Helicopter training is restricted to police and military personnel.

They have an extensive fleet of modern fixed wing aircraft, which are available for private training, and hire, the cost of these aircraft is currently Baht 10,000 per hour.

The 'helicopters' these companies use are just the small remote control type, with an operator looking at a monitor on the ground, they're about 2m long.

I noticed on one of the website linked above they use a hot air balloon too.
