Pith helmet
You know sometimes you're about to do something you'll regret, but you can't stop yourself? Like asking why your 19" screen doesn't seem to measure 19"? Well, this is one of those moments.
I may need to lay my hands on a pith helmet at some stage in the not-too-distant future. Are there any residents who have one or know someone locally who does?
Feel free to take the pith.
And don't bother asking why - that will only be (reluctantly) disclosed to the potential lender!

This is the way

I was actually thinking of opening a business charging hunters to hunt rats on my property; The Hua Hin Hunting Lodge... kind of like the Fishing Lodge...except would definitely NOT be catch and release!!!Maybe hunting HHF rats??

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
DM,
Your request made me more interested in pith helmets so I did a bit of research and I was surprised how many different types there are/were:
I think this is the standard UK pith helmet:

Then there's this west Asian campaign variety:

The Africa Corps variety:

Camo:

North Vietnamese Army:

And my personal favorite, the solar powered air conditioned pith helmet:

Actually I know where you can buy one very similar to that N Vietnamese version above, but without the communist badge.
They sell them at one of those gift shops down by the beach restaurants in Sam Roi Yod national park, a pretty cheap affair that I don't think cost much.
It would do the trick if you wanted it for fancy dress or something of that nature.
I knew an old Englishman in Jakarta who had a real Empire-builder type one made for him by a hat shop in KL which he said was the last supplier surviving.
