tour busse with police escort

was told that the tour busses with police escort are just happy campers on holidays not vips??? can any gang of cretins hire the fuzz to rush them around the streets of hua hin?? and how much does it cost???..................lol

Certainly someone posted on here before that you can pay for a police escort if you want one and I think 5000bt was mentioned as the cost, although I may be mistaken on that.

That could be about equal to your fines at a steady 140 Bangkok to Chiang Mai non-stop. I wonder if they have long distance package deals like that.

I think people just do it so they can look important, but it does seem that just about everytime you go on the road you see a great convoy of coaches with a police escort.
It's not as if a Thai bus driver needs an escort as they usually manage to drive faster than anything else on the road without one.
