Can anyone Recommend a Maid

Post by kje889 »

I'm looking for a maid to spend about 10 hours a week at my house in Soi 102.

Can anyone recommend a maid that does good work and is trustworthy?

Thanks for your help

Five hours an no replies Kevin. Probably because all those who have a good one want to keep it a secret for fear she will be bought away :D.

Seriously, if you talk to your neighbors, especially if they're Thai, you'll have a line at your door next morning.

The "trustworthy" issue is really one only you can determine and that means you or your wife need to be in house with her for the first month or so to really determine and understand her personality.

With the maids we've had over the years we've made it very obvious at the beginning that we were not only watching performance but personality as well.

If she's a crook or simply lazy, she'll get tired of the surveillance quickly and usually say "the house is too big....." or some other lame excuse.

We had a real good maid/nanny who became pregnant, and with her it took 2 months before we left her alone in the house. ( No BaaBaa, I didn't do it!)

With the new one, we have her do inside 0830-1200 and then outside after her lunch all afternoon so we can lock the place and do what we need to do.

Feelings are improving and hopefully in a month or so we can welcome her to the family and trust her. It takes time. Pete

kje889,

I know that my (Thai) daughter is looking for part time work, and those hours each day would be brilliant ie as long as she can get the kids to school first.

Her English is perfect (lived in UK for 8 years), and she's also helped clean my house to my satisfaction in that period (if that's any recommendation). She also cleans part time for a couple of bar owners as well - I know that they are happy with her work.

If you are interested, please PM me your details and what you are willing to pay (I've no idea what the going rate is, but obviously she will). If my daughter is interested, I will PM back her contact details.

Unfortunately, I'm travelling on a train in the UK at the moment, so I am unable to contact her for a couple of hours.

kje889,

I've contacted my daughter, and she says she has enough work at the moment, and wouldn't want to take on any additional commitment with the school holidays looming - sorry.

You're right.. it is hard to find a good maid.

I've asked my neighbors and the maids they knew were fully booked.

My search continues...

Thanks

Hi Kevin

I know a maid, who works for us about 1 day/month. She is very good in cleaning, washing and ironing (what my missus does not like at all). But she speaks no word of English. If you have a Thai wife, she could tell her what to do. PM me, if you are interested.
