Distilled Water - Where to buy?

Post by MrPlum »

I tried to buy bottled water from the bike shops, thinking it was distilled water for batteries and found it had added chemicals. No good to me. Anyone know where I can buy distilled water locally?

Thanks.

Hi MrPlum

We build and run electric boats and electric cars here so we buy the stuff by the case.
How many bottles would you like?

When we were going through this thread:

http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/sa ... 13008.html

some posters mentioned that the reverse osmosis bottled water is virtually distilled water as the process removes the minerals, and to be careful drinking it full time as you won't get the minerals you need.

Does the good quality bottled water indeed qualify as distilled water? Pete

Hi Barrys

Perhaps 10 litres initially.

Thanks for other replies. :thumb:

I wouldn't drink the distilled water that I buy for my truck battery as it has a slight flourescent orange glow when you hold it up to the light.
I don't know what they put in it, but it's obviously not supposed to be used for drinking.

I've just had a good look at the distilled water we use and it's absolutely clear.

According to my staff and the label on the bottle, there don't appear to be any chemical additives.

We buy it in boxes of 12 x 1 litre

You can tell by the taste, not the colour. I have a PWT (pure water tester) coming in the next few days, which will determine if it's okay. Will pm you when it arrives.

Cheers.
