Pity no poll on the issue of disastrous airports I would nominate CDG (cunningly designed garage) and Schipool (Shithole) to beat Suv (swampy).

Went thru' airport last Monday on way back to Singapore and the majority of shops had very few customers, most had none. My thai wife says that it's their own fault for ripping off tourists.
They have also now changed the baggage inspection points to just after immigration as opposed to going down to the gates.

Whilst CDG isn't the worst airport facility wise, it certainly is one of the most frustrating to try and transit through, particularly with Air France selling tickets for connections that are impossible to make.

Hate transitting in CDG, a complete nightmare! Closely followed by transitting in Frankfurt, what a huge, crap, boring airport that is early in the morning. Give me Swampy any day of the week.

I've never really understood the negative opinion Suvarnabhumi seems to get.

I've never had any problems, all very quick and efficient for me.

The outside looks great but the inside is a little cold and baron.

If you are to believe the publicity it is that Kings power should be having a makeover!
Took me 15 minutes from walking of plane to baggage collection 10 days ago. I was amazed to see that there were only 3 people in the IMM queue. Probably had something to do with the 2 hour delay at CDG and 3 hr delay at Dubai.

Agreed strghe. I've raised the question of airport design on an earlier topic with no response. Maybe a silly un-workable idea - and I'm no architect - but why can't they be built in a circular layout so that any extensions can simply be added to the perimeter? The distance to any gate would be roughly the same when starting from the centre point.
I don't think Swampy is much worse at the moment than some other airports when it comes to distances to gates. Especially when extensions have been added to original terminal buildings in a linear layout, with the inevitable lengthy trek. But Swampy has yet to be extended.....
