Big Bike Insurance in HH
Big Bike Insurance in HH
Hi all,
I have searched the "Ask the Expats" folder and I cannot find a Big Bike Insurance broker in HH. If I am just a thickie no doubt someone will let me know....
Yet I see a lot of Harleys around the place. Anyone have an Insurance broker in HH that is worth trying?
I am looking for 1st class insurance....
Cheers!

Bangkok Ins Public Co Ltd. and Sri Ayudhya Ins have been the best (first class) auto insurance for me over the last five years. I'm sure they must have bike insurance too. I get mine through the Honda (auto) dealership though so I'm not sure where you would go to get bike insurance.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
BIG Bike Insurance!
OK this "no editing" rule is a drag....
I meant BIG BIKE.
No doubt my serious question will now be inundated with witty replies from the local reartee artistes...
When you are done, a Insurance broker would be most gratefully accepted...

Wait til you get hit with the 'double posting' rule...f0xxee wrote:OK this "no editing" rule is a drag....![]()

This is the way
While we are talking about "big bikes" like Harleys etc then it is worth mentioning that the Thai government is about to "shaft" everyone on tax regarding this, certainly is you have a sneaky "it came over in parts and was assembled here" bike. Oh, and BTW, you don't decide the value of the bike, they do at the tax office. So, chance to get it legally registered but the price might be more than you think.
Can't remember where I read it so no link at the moment.

Here's a link:

The section also includes the relevant Thai law on imports.

Thanks to all for posting answers and correcting my big mistake in my original post heading...
Regarding tax on big bikes. Yes. As I understand it if you cannot prove the bike arrived in country in one piece as opposed to stripped down then you are looking at some tax. The issue being the difference in tax between a complete bike and "spares".
I am not sure how you are supposed to proved this. I have papers for my bike goiing back to the original owner in Phuket and the it does say "Tax paid" so you can only hope I guess.
