heaps of places to find them, sent the famiy out to in the morning on a treasure hunt.

That's good advice - the plastic ones are available from Tesco in the Market Village shopping mall as well as lots of hardware and general plasticware goods shops in town.
Available in nice bright colours as well as white.
Tables and stools too .....

I'm disappointed that nobody has followed up on the Amphur angle. I'll get Mrs BB to phone our daughter tomorrow morning (UK time) who will know where they hire the chairs from.

If nobody has solved your problem by tomorrow, I'll let you know where they can be rented from when I get home from work tomorrow evening.

Actually I think that unless you can find a bar owner prepared to do you a favour, it would be cheaper to buy nine chairs and get them delivered as those Thai places that have chairs for parties would normally want to do the whole wedding.

You can get them from certain temples. Some of them have storage rooms that make Index look like beginners. There is a small fee involved. Not sure if this is a fixed price or whatever the people can and/or are willing to pay.
Never done this in Hua Hin though, but someone must be able to point you in the right direction.

Mrs BB has phoned our daughter, and she says that you just need to go along to the Tessabahn (Sp?), and you can hire them for a very small fee.
