Ah yes, now I kow jai as hadn't read about the 'beach ball' incident yet. Classic case of Murphy's Law. Pete

Mr Somporn said they were considering offering discounted entry to the museum by way of an apology.
That's Thailand; it might be offensive but what do you expect for that price.

This goes to the depths of what we've talked about on here often. Even those with first rate educations live in their own isolated mental world with little focus about what goes on outside of Thailand.

I would bet the owners of this business in Pattaya have never studied WWII, the Holocaust, or even what Hitler represented.
 Just something to make money with. Pete

Hmmm... well at least the publicity is working!
I just hope they are putting Thatcher in the 'scary section' as well

One of the best publicity stunts in a long, looooooong while. Very, very effective. If they stick to the original plan, they'll cover only Hitler's face with a :D and laugh all the way to the bank.

Not very moral, perhaps, but truly brilliant.

I'll reserve judgement on the "brilliant" part. I still believe 8 of 10 Thai's driving past don't know who the picture is off, or who Hitler was.

As we've read, the Thai script reads "Hitler is not dead!" It gives no hint as to anything else, no mention of the waxworks, a show, nothing. How can they make money from that when they don't tell people where to go to see more?

Since your average farang visitor can't read Thai, all they see is the picture, and perhaps think it's a welcome by the government of Pattaya. Surprised in the photo we don't see a lot of burned tire rubber from U turns caused by people fleeing the place. Pete

I can't believe anybody would use Hitlers image so noncahalantly.

Maybe that was why Harry was here. To open the place. I only hope in keeping with the tone and theme they order in a container full of those lovely brown shirted gnomes saluting you as you enter.
No mention of the war though.....

Brilliant here is defined as "for every $ of paid advertisement you'll get 1 000$ worth of free front page."

So yes, by the sheer free front page exposure this was one of the best publicity stunts in recent years.
One of the very, very definitely best.

If this was not brilliant, why are we on HH board discussing the wax museum being opened in Pattaya?
Why does every Bkk farang know of this soon-to-be-opened-museum in Patty? I can only guess
about all the free ink floating about in the front pages of Thai press, all of them huffily indignant,
all of them Very Politically Correct, yet all of them giving the originators more and more free front page ink.

Just as we are doing now.

Get the pitcher?

And get this; this was a plan to begin with. They have left themselves a get-out-of-jail-card:
that is not really a Natzi salute on da pitcher. Natzi salute was done on right hand, not on left.

Get the pitcher now?

Finally: shame on anyone who altered the Board so that it is impossible to correct a mistake. Especially on
the board where the Preview and Submit buttons are in reverse order compared to many other boards.
