Ban Krut

Post by buksida »

I've been spending more and more time out of Hua Hin lately so will post info on the places I'm discovering. This one I've been to before but not in the last two years. It is probably the first place south of Bangkok with a top notch beach and clear blue/green water.

Ban Krut takes about an hour and 45 minutes to drive to from HH, it is between Tap Sakae and Bangsaphan heading south. The area is very popular with domestic tourists and the number of hotels and resorts there has multiplied over the past three years, it even has a 5 star Arcadia there.

The beach is simply stunning and there are a few local attractions such as a large temple complex offering spectacular views over the bay. The town has little to offer but a number of smaller farang-style bars and restaurants are slowly appearing on the beach road.

Ban Krut is worth a visit and an over night stay, especially for those wanting a bit of serenity and to escape the Hua Hin hassle. More info and accommodation booking can be found on www.bankrutinfo.com

Thanks, Buksi. I was there for a day a couple of years ago and have been meaning to go back and spend a couple of days. Did you stay overnight? If so, where and how much? I got the impression most places were pretty expensive.
This is the way

It is a nice spot; I went down there earlier in the year for a day with some friends as well.
We did intend to stay the night, but it was off season and the place was absolutely deserted, so I have to admit that we drove back to Hua Hin for a night out.

Didn't stay the night as we have a place in Bangsaphan, most of the big resorts were pricey but you can get decent deals out of peak times ... there are a few listed here:

Many are geared up for large groups of Thais so they'll charge a lot more for one room/studio but let 20 people share it!

Thanks Buksi..if no-one else is going to say so, then I will - great photos, thank you. It looks a great place for a quick visit.

Such a shame the photos are copyrighted - they'd have looked great on the brochure for our house

Stayed there a few days early this year and want to go back for a few days soon.
If you go during the midweek ,you will get cheap accomodation.
At the week-ends,many Bangkok-people will come down and the prices rises.
If you have a few days, you will see the big difference between midweek and W-E.
We stayed at a newly opened resort wich is certainly worth a 4 star, for a !
1000 Baht the night,Very clean and nice pool with a pool bar, while you can sit in the pool, they will serve you there.
Also worth is a bycicle trip around the area.We didnt had any plan and discovered many very nice places and a lolt of nature.
This Hotel offers you free bycicles aswell.
check it out on the net at Baangroodarcadiaresort.
Also some nice and cheap seafoodrestaurants at the north beach end.
Just enjoy

It's a brand new place that looks very impressive, we drove past it but didn't venture in.

You can see more info and book it online HERE.

Have to give this place a go for sure, could do with a few days without noise and traffic!
