Are there added costs like the above with life memerbships at HH clubs?
With the exception of Springfield I believe life memberships are limited to Palm Hills, Banyan and Black Mountain and then only to residents/plot Owners. I know that at Palm Hills if a life membership is sold separately from it's designated land plot the status of the membership is automatically reduced to 30 years.

Regarding maintenance fees Palm Hill members pay either 15K per year or 400 Baht per round, if I remember rightly Springfield is 8K per year and I think Banyan 20K per year but I stand to be corrected, Black Mountain no idea.

Members may also enjoy use of sport club facilities squash, pool, tennis etc and discounts in the pro shop and restaurants.

The going price for a Springfield life membership is Bht400,000 which includes the Bht100,000 transfer fee.
For Lakeview's remaining 13 years, sales have been around Bht150,000 which also includes the Bht10,000 transfer.
Maintenance at Springfield and Lakeview is Bht10,000 per year, and Palm Hills Bht15,000 and Banyan Bht35,000 plus

This is just to advise what actually has and is taking place.

This is a bummer. Strange story and I'm sure more will come out as it how it happened. This could be the end of his career, but I hope not. :( :( Pete

"Tiger Woods was injured in a car accident early Friday when his car struck a tree near his mansion in a gated waterfront community, authorities said.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the 33-year-old PGA star hit the hydrant and a tree after pulling out of his driveway in his 2009 Cadillac sports utility vehicle.

The patrol reported Woods' injuries as serious, though Woods spokesman Glenn Greenspan said the golfer was treated at the hospital and released in good condition.

The patrol said alcohol was not involved, though the accident remains under investigation. No one else was in the car, patrol spokeswoman Kim Montes said......"

What's the reason for 13 years only. Are they shutting down?

They are issued with 15 years, so the balance is sold on. 30 years can be bought for 350k.

Tiger is not seriously injured as first reported, he was discharged quickly, bit of a barny with wife me thinks!

Tiger when being interviewed about possibly withdrawing from next weeks tournament said although his driving was not up to his normal standard (he has developed a slice and hook combination that takes in water hydrants and trees) that would not deter him but his putting could be a reason why he may withdraw.
When asked if his putting would be put off by the trauma of his accident he said no definitely no

I dare anyone to find a nicer person and gentleman in all of sports. The media is already starting to crucify him with sensationalist innuendo and speculation. Yes, it comes with the territory but I hope he publically tells the lot of them to F off! :guns: Pete

Wondering if anyone can help me out with shafts? I've never known much about them.
I've got a Taylor Made Bubble Shaft R-80 driver. It's about 8 years old. I hit it reasonably, but I'm sure it's got a regular shaft which may be too whippy for me. There's no label on the shaft so I can't be sure.
In addition, I've got a really old Ben Hogan driver. Tiny head etc. It's an Apex, high modulus graphite shaft and it does have a label - Apex 4. I've a feeling that this is a stiffer shaft.
Anyway, just for a laugh, I got the Hogan out of my bag at the range this morning. Wasn't really hitting it further than the Taylor Made, but it was generally straighter.
Have I got the shaft stiffness correct between the two clubs and what do the numbers mean on shaft labels? Ie Apex 4.
When back in the UK recently, I had use of a King Cobra, stiff shaft, 9 degree loft and that went miles when I hit it correctly. At some point, I might be looking for a new driver, but I want to be sure that I'm getting a stiff shaft. Any advice is welcome :thumb:

While we're on golf advice does anyone use those putting mats? Putting is probably the least practiced part of the game and the most important - my putting is shite so was wondering if those things actually help.

Buksi, This is what you want - http://www.proshotsolutions.co.uk/prodd ... ave-hicks2
It aligns everything up straight - not one for stupid games aids but this one is worth it.

Lomu - Bin all of the old drivers, they dont launch the ball like the new ones, the ball is such a different design now that they dont work together.
I bought a almost new Taylor Made Burner (big headed bugger) for 6000 baht from Taniya plaza in BKK. Take a trip and you will find something much more uesful!!

How to break 90!

Post by hhfarang »

I played Springfield yesterday on a invitation to use a promotional offer that I could afford. First, let me warn you... never, never, never play golf here on the day after Christmas. I've had five hour rounds at crowded courses at certain times in the U.S. but Springfield yesterday was the worst I've seen.

We went off between 1 and 2 p.m. as we figured the crowd would have thinned by then but were we wrong. It was the slowest play I've ever seen, with five to ten minute waits at some tees with two groups queued behind the group teeing off.

We were a twosome so we joined the twosome in front of us after a while (and meeting up with them at the next tee for a chat!). That still didn't help.

On the upside I played the Valley Course (the newest nine there designed by Jack Nicklaus) and I think it is much better than the Mountain or Lake courses which I've played several times before. IMO it is a much more interesting layout and very scenic as the holes are in valleys between the hills. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will ask to play it again the next time I'm there.

Oh, and I finally figured out how to break 90! We played until it was too dark to see the ball, but play was so slow that we only got in 15 holes..... so..... I shot 86!!!! :thumb:
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
