A Little Confused!!

Post by E-Dork »

Hi All...

I am not a frequent poster on HHAD but read the threads 2 to 3 times a day. I am a little confused about the, not so, NEWish system which let a lot of the good, conversational stuff be put to' searches' because it wasn't anything to do with Hua Hin and, I may add, that it was a good move as a website giving help on all areas Huahinian.

Where I am confused is... the reason the new rule came about was too many ( very entertaining by the way ) conspiriky theories 'polluting' the website. Now you have 3 out of 15 threads that are to do with computers which, unless you have a love for a non-living thing which can't love you back it has absolutley NO relevence to Hua Hin apart from computer geeks living in the area.

Jockey's threads were far more entertaining than learning about how many G's your computer holds or what is the size of your ...........

P.S Before you tell me to search the other threads that are not displayed here... yes I can do thatl, but as the title explains.... I am a little confused.... why do enterntaining threads like Scot Jocky's be banished from the 'front page' but things about how big a computer nerd you are, are put for all too see!!!

You can't have it both ways HHAD, ( actually you CAN.. it's your website  ). You either BANISH all topics that are not relevant to Hua Hin to the search pages or you let a free for all like before continue. Personally I prefered before but it wasn't of any use to learn about Hua Hin if you're one of these people that needs to get told WHERE to go, WHAT to do, WHAT to eat, WHERE to pee etc etc....

As the title suggests.... Do I come here for I.T. information or both...

Maybe the website could be called HHAD*IT.com

This won't go down well I know but I'm not bothered. Not all of us who adore your website and spend a decent amount of time every day ( Yes I'm a sad man  ) want to see computer stuff as the 'HOT TOPICS'.
If it's within arms reach, there's nothing to worry about!!

Can't really see what there is to be confused about.
One gives us non-IT posters valuable help with our pooters, which in returns helps us contribute to the site. Call the experts nerds/geeks if you like, but that just reveals your out of touch with modern day IT folk, many are mates and as normal as ma-ma-ma-me.

The other issue was a one-off (the wrist) poster flooding the board with repetitive anti-US/Israel guff and absurd CT predictions that failed to materialise. Call it tin hat crackpot stuff if you like, which would show how in-touch you were :D
This contributed zip to Hua Hin members.

E Dork,

I have deleted your duplicated thread.

The first thing I have to draw your attention to, however, are the Forum's T&Cs, which clearly state that decisions made by Admin or Moderators are not for discussion on the open forum. Please use the PM facility for such discussion.

I don't think it is as bad as you make out. Everything is available if you simply click on the Hua Hin Forum link slightly to the right of the Hot Topics, and you'll enter the full forum. Once you're on that page, you have 2 choices ie:

- Click on all posts since last visit, which will list everything that has been posted since your last visit (my preference).

- Go to the forum that floats your boat eg if you liked Jockey's posts, your preference would probably be Current Affairs.

As for the current situation, it is simply a snapshot in time. If computer problems are giving Hua Hin residents particular problems at the moment, that is the hot topic(s) of the moment.

Finally, I don't think this post belongs in the Digital Realm, so I have moved it to FOO.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

Exactly, I think you're going into the forum the wrong way; just do as BB says and go via the forum page and you can find all the more entertaining threads without having to do any searching.
Seeing as Jockey is not around anymore, feel free to post any conspiracy you fancy so that we can try to shoot it down!

Sorry Guys

Having just seen this thread apparantly written by myself, one can only assume that a certain Mr E-Dork was a wee bit intoxicated as he has no recollection of this event at all!!

Mods keep up the good work, forget the drunk old farts ramblings.
