Champions league 2009/2010

Post by Arcadian »

I won`t debate the issue of Benitez`s buys if you don`t mind, seems that to pull on a Liverpool shirt gives you the football equivalent of Papal infallability.
(note to Baa Baa, this is meant as a joke and is not meant to cause offence or apoplexy to any Liverpool supporters)

Liverpool went out of the Champions League last night despite beating Debrecen 1-0 in Hungary.
Fiorentina defeated Lyon 1-0 to qualify for the knockout stage and condemn Liverpool to the Europa League.
N'gog scored for Liverpool in the 4th minute but it was a largely lacklustre display against a team currently lying 6th in the Hungarian League.
Arsenal beat Standard Liege 2-0 to take an unassailable 6 point lead in their group but lost Kieran Gibbs with a metatarsal injury.
Rangers,already eliminated,lost at home to Stuttgart 2-0.

I read somewhere that Gibbs was already injured prior to the game.

Liverpool have a mouth watering clash against Unirea in the Europa League ! 8)

After the Champions League draw I reckon both United and Real Madrid are the most vulnerable of the so called big teams.

Arsenal lost at Porto, very frustrating being an Arsenal fan nowadays.

When will Wenger ever learn that his squad is too inconsistent with too many youngsters. Whenever Arsenal can't play with their first line they just become an average team that will win nothing.

Balak said the right thing when he claimed that football is not about doing the most beautiful passes but to score goals.

Frustrating? I thought embarrassing would be more appropriate.

That goalkeeper exceeded the best of Scottish goalkeeping errors, which have held the record for many years. Arsenal must be the laughing stock of Europe.
