Just to add, not bitter at all, been watching spurs since the early 60's and been through it all before. Just my observations that Arsenal didn't look that good even the crowd were getting pissed off. Tottenham well they were terrible.

I notice that several Liverpool old boys are now publicly criticizing Benitez. Baa Baa, if they lose to Lyon would you not accept they will be deep in the mire.

Of course I'm not happy but in these situations you need to have a bit of perspective, not turn on the Manager.
Benitez took Liverpool to within 4 points of the title earlier this year and finished 14 points clear of the imperious Wenger.

Against Fulham we had at least 7 players out, 5 of which would have probably started if fit, it's been similar all season, no consistency, like our form.

I think the media coverage Benitez is recieving is disgusting, some of it verging on libellous.

The Suns coverage of the Fulham V Liverpool match today is a 2 page attack on Benitez full of hate, they claim that his teams have been durge for five years, conveniently forgetting that his team was easily the best in the country for the last 3 months of last season, playing some great stuff, scoring goals for fun and in fact finished top scorers.

I've nothing against Spurs, but they are 1 point better off than Liverpool, but our 'Arry hasn't had any negative press, yet Benitez is being pulled apart 7 days a week.

When Johnson, Agger, Skrtel, Aurelio, Gerrard, Aquilani, and Riera (7 first team players) are all fit and playing I'm sure results will pick up.

The chances are by next Monday night Liverpool will be 4 points behind Manchester United, not battling relegation.

The difference here is that Spurs have not been a good side for years and years, whilst Liverpool have and expectations are much higher at Liverpool. The 1 point difference is also my point they are still up there and we are nowhere near xmas yet. Time for many many twists and turns.

i don't think we've got out of 3rd gear in our last half dozen matches

long way to go but with clichy, walcott, denilson & bendtner to add to todays squad, we have plenty of options.
my only concern would be an injury to one (or both ) central defenders

with chelsk (at the emirates) & your lot ( at anfield) coming up in the next few fixtures, we'll see how we'll cope.

The inconsistent pay of last year compared to a considerably more stable performance now is probably because the young team has gained one more year of vital experience; they have now got Vermalen and also gotten rid of the trouble makers who left for Man C.

I suspect that I will probably live to regret this but, watching the two top teams yesterday there was much huffing and puffing, thuggery and disrespect to the officials, and neither team could live with the football Arsenal are currently playing. Their only game plan would be to kick them off the park. Fletcher and Evans were lucky to stay on the field. Having said that I still think that Chelsea will finish on top.

In fairness A, Utd stopped us playing yesterday when I thought the game plan was meant to be that we would do that to them, just as the Scallies did!!!

I'm glad you mentioned Evans, the karate kick on Drogba that saw Drogab booked could easily have broken a few ribs - it was a tad high - and then there was the daft kick on Carvahlo, for wich he was yellow carded - Carvahlo was rightly booked as well.

It wasn't a pretty match.

Caller, why was Drogba booked? I know he has a reputation as a drama queen but that injury was genuine, and a nasty "tackle" which deserved a straight red. I must go now as standing up for Chelsea is bringing on a nose bleed.

ok, he didn't have a bad game, but he certainly didn't merit the m-o-m award.
i would have given it to evans for his kung fu kick on frogba & to even things up, an oscar for bogba's reaction

have to agree with caller, it wasn't a pretty game, but to the neutral, it was entertaining
the ref made a few bad calls but that seems to be par for the course these days & could be understandable in such a high profile game.

i don't often defend the manx but have to say, they were a bit hard done by, result wise.
