Seriously though, quite a read, and some wildly different views on it. It is an interesting question though on a biological level, ie "What purpose does it serve?"
But, towards the end when the last theory is forwarded about Chinese women and rich dominant males etc could just back up the old saying "Money talks and bullshit walks."
The answer from people and the extent to which it occurs could vary on cultural/society variables and women's attitude towards it within such environments, or how personally willing to indulge themselves in it due to whatever consideration, will vary on a whole load of stuff, including circumstance/religion/prudishness and the rest but what the scientific biological explanation to it is is left up in the air as they have no clue.
It is a well known fact in Thai culture that most women never enjoy this "event", the males tend not to give a toss about it, just be selfish and sort themselves out.
