Hi everyone.. can you all living on 'falang' type projects give me some idea of what you're paying per unit for your electricity and water?? It would be a great help or may just really depress me depending on how much you pay
Sorry if this has already been done.. but couldnt find it.
Also what is the going rate for town amenities??

I think that's a very valid point. We often get enquiries/queries/complaints on this Forum about utilities. Rarely, if ever do these come from those farangs who have integrated in to Thai neighbourhoods.
It depends on your demand. One Air Condtion per room per night, for a month will cost you about 1200 Baht. Water, if it is government water will cost about, including gardening water, about 80 - 200 baht per month.
If the water has to be brought to you by truck, it is pretty expensive.
300 baht arround per time.
I think both water and electricity are on a sliding scale here... the more you use, the more the cost per unit and the higher percentage of the added on surcharge (with electricity).
If you live in a development without individual meters your utilities will cost whatever the controlling entity (developer or home owner's association) wants to charge you or can get away with.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
I pay what LB does for water and what S/M pays for power and that's with 2 hefty a/c units that are on either night or day ie: 1 bedroom or lounge respectively. A fair bit of water goes onto the garden also.
Water can be from 5 to 15 baht/unit. A unit is a cubic metre.
If a mooban is a legal entity and each house is on its own approved meter then it will be low, based on consumption as hhfarang said.
My village is not a mooban, we use town water to supplement wells and that water has been 15 baht +7%VAT = 16.05 baht/m3 because the village as a whole is a big user.

Much appreciate all your replies
Hi Pinky, if you look about halfway down the topix index in this 'Ask the Expats' you'll see a thread called 'Water Rates' that will help. Can't link as posting off mobile.
Question to all ..... Re: Trucked in water, anyone out there got a number for anyone who can provide better than 350 Baht for 6,000 litres. Sounds reasonable on the face of it but, if my maths is correct, that's 58 Baht a unit (m3).
Also, anyone know how much these trucks pay at their source ? wonering if it might be worth doing it ourselves, water table in many areas of town is getting worse, affecting many Moo Bahns.

You really have to be careful of the 'source'. Both in Pattaya and Rayong I've had problems with suppliers sucking it from the nearest roadside klong. Pete

Seen trucks on the Klong road doing this.

Might scrub my bunghole with it but drinking could be risky!
