Yummy Thai food at last!

Restaurants, food, beverage, hawkers, and local markets and suppliers. This is the place for discussion on Hua Hin's culinary options.

Yummy Thai food at last!

Post by charlesh »

Just tried the open air place next to the turn off to HH on way to Pranburi ( laterally opposite to Makro ie SE side of main drag on triangular corner block) - "Poong gahn" - unfortunately only Thai menu but nosh is tops and very reasonably priced .

One of the best Kao pats I've had in LOS. Even the prawn dishes were nicely balanced - flavour wise and not over done with chillis which appears to be a favourite preoccupation here in HH to disguise any hope of trying to taste anything else.

Service friendly but needs help. Can get orders mixed up too. Can't get a nam som nor nam minau. Strange when they have both ice and the fruit. Ever heard of a blender??? But then again TIT. And NO I don't know the owners or any member of staff!

BB should give it a go!!

Sounds familiar, we tend to have to resort to ordering kao pat something when the menus are in Thai too :D :D

Where is this place Charles? - I'm thick and cant follow your instructions.

Cheers

He might mean Buffalo Bill :D

As you're going to be there first, I think I'll leave it to you to try. Let me know how you get on, and I'll consider giving it a go when I'm there next year.

...or bambam
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Twas thinking of Big Boy given his exciting descriptions of eating events he has experienced. Didn't realise there were other BB gastronomes ha, ha.
Get road out of HH to Pranburi go to end just where it meets the new flyover (ie the new Bangkok/Pranburi bypass connection. Unfortunately can't turn right so you go to the 1st set of lights and do a U turn in front of Thannarat Army camp. Have to go back and keep left (DON't go back over flyover to HH) go past Makro and when get to uncontrolled intersection some several hundred meters further do a u turn again. Keep left and maybe 100 meters before the left turn which would take you back on the HH road you see a restaurant on a triangular plot with lights and signs (sign means something like full stomache I was told) - You've arrived. Bon appetite.
