Amir Khan

Bit of an enigma but he was absolutely devastating in utterly destroying Salita on Saturday night. He is looking pretty good under Roach's direction.

Any comments?

Yes, he was excellent, and his opponent was far from being a no-hoper. Watch America, he's on his way :guns:

He has the world's best trainer for sure. But he hasn't been really tested yet. He needs to get in with a few Mexican meat grinders to really prove himself.

True - but Salita was the WBA's No.1 contender. There are loads of really good potential match ups in and around his weight. It's only a matter of time before he finds himself up against a real top class opponent.

1) Barrera was 6-7-8 years past his prime.
2) Khan butted him early opening a nasty gash and MAB couldn't see.
3) Fight should have been stopped as a no-decision.
4) Hometown ref let it go 5 rounds so it could go into the books as a Khan "win".
He needs to get on the plane, there's not the same level of competition in England. I'm not sold 100% but I'm open simply because Roach said he's good.

he's a good boxer but i agree a it of an enigma.
he's recovered well from the knockout he suffered against prescott but there still must be a slight worry in the camp.

on the same bill, kevin mitchell took prescott to the cleaners with a unanimous points win & the prospect of a fight with khan in the not to distant future is a formality.

between now & then, both fighters have to step up in class to really stake their claims.
as for salita, he may have been a number 1 contender, but he hasn't really fought anyone of note, & boy did it show
