Western Tours

Post by mr lonely »

i travel to Uk twice a year, always booking on the internEt, never any problems
However this trip I booked through Western Tours.
They forgot to confirm the reservation, tried to change flight to Egypt Air (I think not!), made out it was airlines fault, when I refused to change to Egypt Air, they decided they could find a seat after all on the original flight.
Just been down there again, "so sorry, cannot find seat now"
Change again ! this time to Gulf Air
Absolute discgrace and they have the cheek to take commission.
The wind blows cold on brake and heath
The weeping willows cry
The mountains dark are jagged teeth
Against a leaden sky.

That's a shame, to say the least. I seem to remember another thread where a member had had similar trouble.
Personally, I've used them on a number of occasions and I can't fault them.

Not good to hear - I don't know Western Tours, but have in the past experienced similar problems with agents in various locations (mainly Asia purely as I've been based here for the past 15 years).

From a personal point of view, I tend to book the vast majority of all personal travel and accommodation (also business when possible) through the internet. On this basis I've had far less problems than when booking through an agent - who as Mr. Lonely points out, are very eager to take commission

Yes it is a shame - they are a long established reputable family business.

Sound like something or somebody has changed there
