Well done to Villa, 26 years since they've won at Old Trafford in the league. Som nam na Fergie! :D

I think if Villa can stay injury free they could certainly challenge for a place in the top four.
Spurs and City so inconsistent.Liverpool arent too far adrift of them despite their dodgy spell which seems to have lasted for ages.
Title is Chelsea's to lose though,I reckon.

This made me chuckle:
Avram Grant: (On Younes Kaboul's second booking for removing his shirt) "It's a silly red card - it's a silly rule, it's a stupid rule. If someone can explain this rule to me. What happens if someone takes their shirt off? Does it damage someone, does it disturb someone, does it make someone angry? I think someone one day woke up in the morning at FIFA and decided to change the rule. A player scoring in the last minute, of course you need to control yourself, but I don't think even some of the supporters could control themselves. (Kaboul) apologised, Not many times I understand, but in this case, I understood. You need to control yourself, but it's not easy sometimes. All our bench celebrated and took their shirts off - if you see the belly of the kitman."
And I'm inclined to agree. Mind you, what is so very difficult to remember about "Don't take your shirt off or you'll get booked, and two bookings is a red card."

They know the rules, and they have seen many booked before them. Regardless of whether the rule is right or wrong, it has to be sheer madness to defy them.

Anybody who feels that they have to remove their shirt after scoring a goal, not only needs to be booked, they need to be severely reprimanded by their own club.

Its sure turning into a slog, I think this one will go to the wire. Relieved to learn Chelsea drew, as having switched off completely for the 13 days since arriving in LOS, I rolled up for a full english at the BS Guesthouse this morning and guess who was on TV? So a local turned up and as we had to leave before the end, I was told we lost and the Mancs drew. Huge relief to learn it was about face all of 20 minutes ago, and yes, my IKTS score has suffered!

I'm still sticking to a top 4 of the Mancs, the Champions, the Gooners and Spurs!

have to agree & severely reprimanded if it's your second yellow  :?

some of the rules are a complete joke, but they are rules :|

the one that baffles me the most, is when a player gets injured & treated by the physio, he has to leave the field & not return until play resumes  :? :? :? , yet the player that has caused the injury (& probably booked!) gets to carry on playing  :? :? :?

on another note, do you have to actually win the penalty by diving to be called a cheat or do you simply just have to be a foreigner ??
rooney's attempt yesterday was pathetic!!

It's just been confirmed that Man City have replaced Mark Hughes with Roberto Mancini.

[edit]
Manchester City statement: "A return of two wins in 11 Premier League games is clearly not in line with the targets that were agreed and set. Sheikh Mansour and the board felt that there was no evidence that the situation would fundamentally change."

And Harry's been a naughty boy as well: Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is to face proceedings over a tax issue, his solicitors said today in a statement issued by the football club.

Wasn't that Al Capone's downfall as well?

I wish I could say that I take no pleasure in being right when I predicted the reaction of the non football owners of Man City who sacked Mark Hughes due to lack of success, without giving him a full run, but I do.
Serves him right for swearing at the sainted Arsene Wenger
