I was passing by Khao Tao lake a couple of days a go and preparations were going on for the dragon boat races.
This is a big event that has Royal patronage and is a spectacle that is well worth visiting, with races in all sizes of boats up to ones with sixty rowers.
From what I could make out, it happens from the 24th to the 27th of December, but if anyone can read Thai they could perhaps take a look at a sign and confirm that.

Confirmed, Steve, though IMHO the races themselves are a bit like wats - you see a few and that's enough for a lifetime!
