Exactly right, Big Boy. Another poster has mentioned driving skills and safety, and I believe if you are a responsible driver that you can apply that to a SatNav just the same as watching your speed. The aftermarket unit that I have has very good voice prompts that tell you exactly what you have written, without looking at it. - when in heavy traffic, it'll tell you how far to the next junction, informing your decision to overtake or not.
- on-screen instruction guides you into the correct lane in good time.
There was a recent TV ad in Thailand promoting a SatNav. It actually showed the driver looking at, and using the keys, while driving along. And, like mobile phones, tail gating, not using indicators, etc ad finitum, how do you stop that?
