Boat Rental

Post by pharvey »

Is it possible to rent a small boat in Hua Hin? Simply looking for a small boat just to potter about along the coast for a day or 2. If so, are there any special licenses required, any no-go areas?

Hi pharvey

The no-go areas around Hua Hin are the exlcusion zone in front of the royal palace demarcated by the navy ships you can see off the fishing pier. as well as a smaller zone at Hat Sai Yai, where there's a royal summer residence - otherwise you can go anywhere along the coast.

No special licence is required for renting a small boat for a day or 2.
However, you can get a Thai skipper's licence here if you have lived in Thailand for more than 2 years.

We have a few small (and bigger) boats available for hire.
Maybe it would be better to call me at 084-8007400 and we can see if we have something that will suit you.
