I am going to give it a go, so I would be interested to hear the results.

I have started making things like Bread Sauce and Sage and Onion Stuffing and will soon be doing my own Pickled Onions, all pretty basic items and most available here at a price, but they haven't always been available ready made.

By the way, anybody got a recipe for Oxo Cubes? :P

Being a Yorkshire man too I was also brought up on Piccalilli (Cunningham’s mainly), Pickled Walnuts, horseradish etc – especially with your cold roast beef Monday tea time.

You can buy quite good Chinese pickled vegetables – Cauliflower etc. – I think I would experiment with adding some turmeric and mustard +a touch of Palm sugar to those...
