Cha Am wet market sometimes has avocadoes
Have tried Chateau de Loei, but did not think much of it at all.
If you go to Pak Chong in Khao Yai, you have several quite good vineyards - Grand Monte is probably the best, adm ost well known, and PB Valley too. Grane Monte in my opinion, has the best wine, whilst PB's is a close second, but with wonderful views and an excellent Restaurant.
Hua Hin Vineyard is not wuite there yet, in my opinion. Not that it counts for much, mind. I only drink wine from glasses with handles on the side!

I have never seen avocados for sale here in Thailand either, but it's nice to see that some people here still have on their rose-tinted glasses.prcscct wrote:Per above, I've never seen an fresh avocados anywhere, although I don't frequent Foodland or Villa often. Do they have them, or anyone seen any in the markets? I think the climate is wrong here to be able to grow them, except maybe in the north. Pete
LOL

All ingredients are, of course, available here in California, but when I lived back east I've substituted cilantro for the hoja santa, and sorrel for the epazote.

Rolling pin flour......what?
Golden place....... where?
"Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things" - Yma o Hyd.
Rolling flour is just baking flour (you roll it flat with a rolling pin). Golden place is on the east side of Phetkasem road just before the Palace headed towards Cha-Am. It's open 24 hours a day.OK, a couple of silly questions: -

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Coming form HH, down left-hand Soi just before main Traffic Lights.pharvey wrote:Cha Am.... OK, Cha Am Market OK, Cha Am "Wet Market"?....... Where, when, what......?Winkie wrote:Cha Am wet market sometimes has avocadoes

Macro has avacados imported mostly from austrailia. During the thai growing season July to i think October Maro and golden place have avacados grow mostly around Chaing Mai. I have had some grown locally. The Thai avacados are bigger but they are growing ones close to the Haas. Tesco, Golden place sometimes have the Haas. Villa always has them
Macro and Villa do sell Jalepenos
Villa does have a better selection of tortillas.
