Wood is very expensive now, even here. Try the Thai style building merchants/depot, they'll probably have some, if not, then can order it for you. Other than that, buy more mellow dogs.

You may want to consider chain link. Cooler for the dogs and no worries about termites.

A neighbor of mine put up a wood decorative partition fence and only poured cement into the hole to support the 5"x5" posts instead of using the pre-formed cement tubes with sealed bottom. The termites ate his posts within a year. Pete

Steve/M: Yes keep me posted thanks.

Its problematic. When the dogs are loose in the garden they like to eat things like the car, motorcycle, etc and it does get expensive. Night time
we leave the dogs out to fend off any night time visitors and this works well. They are very protective of their terrority so Im happy about that.

Prcscct: The chain link is a good idea and I guess readily available in HH.
Not too expensive I guess.

I have to punt Lippy but assume readily available in HH as I've seen it about everywhere in the country, especially as an enclosure for tennis courts, schools etc. What I haven't seen is the type with the green high grade plastic coating on the link. Makes it look nice if available. Like everything here I guess there may also be the issue of how well it's galvanized and how do you prove it. Hopefully someone in HH has used it and will offer advice. Pete

There is an open fronted hardware store on the left heading out of town to the North that has rolls of chain link.
I can't remember exactly where it is, but I think it was between the hospital and Toyota and you can see the rolls from the road. They only have the galvanised stuff and not the plastic coated version.

Not sure if this has changed, but the green plastic coated chain link I have experience with is crap. First the wire inside is smaller diameter so weaker and after a couple of years in the sun the plastic fades badly and starts to crack and fall off. Galvanized is the only way to go.

Hi

Thanks for that.

Im sure the galvernised fencing is fine as its only a small fence at the rear of the house. I dont think the dogs will be able to eat through that but I may be wrong!!

I will check out the store recommended by Steve G.

Most hardware shops stock the chain link type and sell by the metre.

Home-Pro also have a variety of makes including some of all plastic construction

A final note, if on dirt or grass make sure you sink some kind of stone block down about a foot around the perimeter or the beasts may dig themselves out. :D Pete
