Greetings everyone

Post by Peter McManus »

Hi to the Hua-Hin community,

My name is Peter McManus and I have been a regular to Hua-Hin for about 4 years.

I lived in Hin Nam Sai Suai for 6 months a few years back and bought a condo at Sport Villa 2 years ago.

Got married in Hua-Hin to my Thai wife last year.

We are planning to move back to Hua-Hin in January where I will be setting up a new translation business.

Will also be in town for a month for the whole of May.

Interests include Darts, Snooker, Pool and all things Thai!

Look forward to getting to know as many of you as possible.

Hope the recession isn't biting too bad.

Best wishes,

Peter

Welcome Peter

Plenty of your interests in HH. Not sure about snooker but some other members will know

Translation business? English to Thai, Thai to English?
RICHARD OF LOXLEY

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

Snooker is an unfortunate hangover of my wasted youth.

Translation is German to English, French to English and vice versa. I'll be bringing on board some Thai translators shortly to cover the local area.

An idea if there is a darts team in HH. I have just taken in up. Not very good but enthused!

Sport Villa has snooker, hasn't it? At least there's a room with that sign on it.

Welcome aboard.
There is an active darts league around the Hua Hin ex-pat bars, I think you can find the listings in the Observer magazine online.

Hi Peter

Welcome to the board.

We seem to have similar interests:

snooker, pool, plus I've been involved in translation for many years.
My working languages are English, German, French and Dutch.
Don't meet too many people working in that business here.
Maybe we could get together for a drink when you're here and have a chat.

Look forward to seeing you here.

Welcome to Hua Hin Peter and to your wife. :D

Watch out how you throw those darts, you will have some buggers eye out.
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

Hi Peter,
See Richard Walker of Dick's Office bar in Soi 80 about a darts game. I know he's losing two players in late April and desperately needs to replace them. League matches are played every Tuesday, and there's a fun darts night for all-comers every Friday. And the best part of it is that you don't have to be Eric Bristow. Beginners are welcome.

For anyone in interested in Snooker: on soi 88, between the 7-11 at the railway crossing and the Mini Farm restaurant, there is an inconspicuous low rise building, which if you pop inside, has 10 full size snooker tables!
Had enough of the trolls. Going to sleep. I may be some time....

Snooker's here. Minifarm has a very good restaurant and, together with The Golden Place, the best veggies in town.
