Tesco has some electric two plate thingys in..... one is a normal hotplate with a pan and the other can be used as a griddle. 1500 bht is ringing a bell....red colour.
Amy bought one at Xmas... great for griddling my steaks on.
in the homeware section - HomePro had em too, but not "on sale" discounted.

Ok guys so my quest for a blue steak in red wine may be over. To those (only one I think) who suggested I should do my own thing and then I cannot whinge, I have solved the problem.
Now where do I buy the best fillet steak??? Another forum I think

Re: One or two ring cooker
I have a 2 ring gas cooker - basically a free standing hob, thai style. It was 1800 baht from Home Pro. There are cheaper, but they have models rangeing up to about 5-6k. It is powered off a standard gas cylinder. The knee-high ones are about 1100 a cylinder to buy, which will include a gas fill. A refil is 2-300 baht depending where you go. I've had mine about 6 months, daily usage, and haven't had to refil yet, so gas consumption is cheap as chips. The company will refund the difference when you no longer want the cylinder (so it is effectively free rental of a cylinder, based on the idea you will be refilling it occasionally). You also need a regulator (maybe 200 baht) and hose; also from home pro. The gas cylinder was delivered to my place, so really no hassle whatsoever. You can get 2 single rings, which may be a better idea - the larger ring on mine really burns too hot for most of the things I want to do. That could equally be simply that I got a cheapo one, and control is less fine. I don't have (but would like) an oven. Maybe someone else has experience with those?
Had enough of the trolls. Going to sleep. I may be some time....
