Buying books in Thailand
Buying books in Thailand
Hi Does anyone know if english books (novels etc) are ready available to buy in Thailand please? Are there book exchange clubs? What do you all do when wanting to buy books? Thanks Siani

Variety can be quite limited although there are two bookshops in town, but see also the 'white board' section of this forum, a group regularly arrange book swap events which are announced there.

Thanks so much for that info. Will look at your "white board" Regards Sianicaller wrote:Variety can be quite limited although there are two bookshops in town, but see also the 'white board' section of this forum, a group regularly arrange book swap events which are announced there.
Re: Buying books in Thailand
There are actually several more book shops around that stock English language books but they seem to rely on the same supplier so there is a lot of duplication. I get most of mine by trawling the second hand book stalls around town.

That is most helpful I like the sound of secondhand stalls. I look in charity shops here for them. My mother reads so much, I cannot keep the supply coming in quickly enough. Maybe a swop book club may work. Thanks for taking the trouble to reply to me. Re: Buying books in Thailand
Buying books in and around Hua Hin is no problem at all and books are often available here before the UK. Both books shops as more than willing to order any book they do not have in stock.
There is also an active book club should that be of any interest to you.

There are also several bars around town that keep a stock of books for trade...take one (or more), leave one (or more).
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
