If you're going to try to make Mexican food you'll need some Mexican Chili Powder....definitely different from the Chili Powder here which is all Thai.

I just had a friend bring me some direct from America as I couldn't find any here.

Sorry I didn't get enough to share.......but maybe someone else has found some in Bangkok.......Dave????

I'm from San Diego/Orange County-Calif
For some reason corn tortillas are almost non-existant here!

But all the rest can be done, cilantro, garlic, peppers, etc.
Just have to experiment!

But most of asia has no idea about how to make it well, even the so-called Mex restaurants who come from USA. Seems most are from NY or Chicago!

Avocados are dead easy to grow yourself, and yes, you can grow them right here in Hua-Hin. Not only will you have fresh avocados growing in your garden, but you'll also have a really great looking trees which provides plenty of shade. You need at least two trees for cross pollination if you want fruit. Also, they need to be in full sun or else they won't set fruit.

Forgot to mention.......Cilantro is also dead easy to grow even if you are useless in the garden. The same applies to peppers. Next time you buy peppers, simply keep some of the seeds, let them dry out for a day or two and them stick them in some soil, about 2 or 3mm below the surface and water daily. I was growing them in the shade of a banana tree and was amazed at just how quickly they start to produce fruit. I don't bother now because my two young kids don't allow any such luxuries....lol.

Maybe I should start a thread about "growing your own"......lol.

Speaking again of avos, in the blanked out thread, they sell the trees already grafted and ready for planting, and have more than 1 variety, but alas, no "bacons'! Check 'em out for sure!

Where the hell is Fred??

The guy who used to run a good Mex in the night market.

On the chili front. The hottest are actually grown in the UK (believe it or not) closely followed by India

Anyway at the end of the day what we need is a chill out in HH (California style). I'm in

Habaneros are the hottest I've ever eaten... much hotter than Jalapenos!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
