Why? I use the method, have signed in once and told the system to keep me signed on. The system remembers when you were on last and shows you new posts since then. Pete

Pete, these days many sites such as ebay etc. and webmail sites Yahoo, Hotmail etc. offer you the option of 'remember me next time' or 'keep me signed in until I log off'. I always understood it was not a good idea to choose such options as regards security issues, hackers, etc. but maybe things have improved from earlier days - although not all display the https prefix or padlock symbol to show it's a secure site etc. even when you might expect it to be
(Not implying that HHAD needs to be a secure site - just a general comment about many more websites now asking users to register first before using even when the content was freely available before without needing to do so eg. newspapers).

Yes, now the scrollbar at the bottom has vanished. Was this Firefox ad to big?

I like this "View unread posts" more than the old system, where you had always to take care not to miss any posts. The disadvantage is, that you have to click on all posts, even if you are not interested in the topic. Otherwise it will come as unread next time.

Sorry if this sound stupid but I am a new user of PM. When I send a message it appears in my outbox and stays there even though it said it was sent. Is this normal? Does it only leave my outbox when the recipient reads it?

le pew,
That's right. A sent message will remain in your outbox until the recipient has "collected" it.

Just noticed the page layout on Safari (iPhone) is now fixed and everything is working as normal, nice one.

I've just tried it in Explorer and that seems to be sorted now.

It seems that most software problems have now been solved however we are still having server problems (hence the 2 hour outage last night) which means we need to find a new hosting company (again).

We will update here with details once finalized.

This, which is included in the text at the bottom of the page:

"In memory of our friend David Geoffrey Boycott 1965 - 2007 RIP Dr Dave Soul Monsta".

I think they've been there for some time?

Until Big Boy :thumb: mentioned it I was not aware (probably applies to many other occasional users), that not all the latest topic submissions (eg. from Current affairs category) are being included in the side bar of the 10 + Latest Topics listing.
Had no idea that it had been changed and is now 'filtered' to represent only HH or local type of discussions.
My suggestion is to at least change the 'Latest topics' heading on the sidebar to something like 'Latest local topics' to avoid confusion and possible duplication when a new topic is started.

This was done well over a year ago on the old software, it is not a new change. It was implemented because this is a Hua Hin forum designed to attract those visiting and resident in Hua Hin, if over 50% of our topics are seen to be about about soccer or the UK then we will lose potential readers and members that would like to know more about Thailand and Hua Hin.

We may well change the wording of the "latest topics" to "latest Hua Hin topics" though as suggested.

Must say, for fun, that it's quality that you have to be a "Registered User" to view "Current affairs" these days Lev/mods, good compromise, funny. :D
