Milford could be such a good course again with a lot of love and attention.
A great layout and really tight on the back 9. I thought the greens were in good condition but the fairways were awful - I just cheated and placed the ball anywhere :tsk:
For 2300THB for two green fees, caddie fees and cart it is overpriced, but if someone is willing to put the investment in, it could be good.
Anyway, buks, a bird wispered that you got your first birdie on a par 4 yesterday :rasta:

Played Springfield C last week so it isn't closed, fairways very dry but still giving good lies much like a UK links course in August. It is fair to say they are reserving their water to maintain A and B but they have a lot of sand on the greens, as much to protect them from the sun as regular hollow tining work I think. Overall condition is still good.
Is there anything new happening with regard to memberships in HH or is it still the usual deals for LV, PH and Springfield? What are the current going rates?

Agree with cookmanchef, Springfield is fine to play, just different from the usual.
I know a Lake View for sale at 140k i think, and Springfield are going for early to mid 400s for a lifetime. The 5year deal looks like a good one at 120k.

Hope to get to Krang Kachan tomorrow, cant wait to take it on again (KK will probably kick my butt ...again!) :thumb:

JW,
If you had a choice of the Lake or Valley course with the Nicklaus (Mountain 9) to follow, which of the first two would you prefer?
I did the Valley a month ago. Does the Lake course have much water on it as the name suggests?

at SF : A-B is preferable , C Course is a lot mor tough with the elevated greens and Penalties all around them..
you Do need a high aproach which stays on the green here.

Hi Lomu,

I would play the Nicklaus 9 last and probably the Valley first (normal back 9) - from the back the finish is great 233yard par 3, 17 is a 462 yard par 4 which drifts to the right, the last is 465 and they play there length. water is similar on both A and B. Green fee today was 800baht with caddy!
A and B at SF are lovley and flow well, C is hard and is great tp play, couple of the toughest holes in the area there, good to play sometimes if your feeling like a real challenge.

Thanks JW,
Was there earlier today and we did the Nicklaus first and then the Valley. Didn't realise, but we were playing off the medal tees. That makes a difference. If there's a next time, I'll be off the old mens' tees!!!!!
The Nicklaus 9 got the better of me today - won't mention the score - but I improved on the Valley course. We all found it difficult putting as the Nicklaus greens were fast as anything, but the Valley ones a lot slower.
Unfortunately, the current promotion seems set to end on the 31st March. Strange when you consider the course is likely to be even quieter from April onwards. At least, there was a sign up about that today in the pro's shop. Hopefully, they'll do something else afterwards?
If anyone hears anything, please let us all know because the course is great.

Does that mean I can knock 12 shots off my score and come in under a hundred?

Those polygonal greens on that Nick 9 are ferociously quick, you fart near them and the ball is off the green and into an 8 foot deep bunker. Beautiful condition though.

We were about an hour later. Meant to ask in the pros shop about the promotions but we needed to get back to HH quickly so forgot to ask.
Great news if the fees are not going up.

I played Springfield twice in December thanks to a neighbor who is a member. Both times we played the newest (mountain 9) twice back to back because both of us thought it was better than the a or b course. Even though it is called mountain, I walked it (both times) as my playing partner likes to walk (I hate the heat and usually ride given an option) and I didn't find it so mountainous and found it one of the better designed nines I've ever played. Challenging: yes; score under 100: no! Fun: absolutely!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Good news from KK, its just a stunning place and you have the chance to hot some really exciting shots!
HHfarang, completly agree about C course, 3rd and 6th are 2 of the best par 4s in the area, tough but really cool if you get it right!.

Check out this great Youtube clip -

If this doesnt make u laugh u have no pulse. (Sorry buksi but really could imagine u giving the starter here some real grief in this situation!!!) :thumb:

Hi guys. Not sur eif thsi is the right place to put this but here goes. First of all many thanks to the HH golf society for the game at Black Mt. Fantastic course great day out and good company. Thanks JW for the help with all. Now Ihave been in Nakhon Nayok for almost a week and played 2 corses twicw each. The Royal Hills is a good course. First tiem cost was 520 baht plus caddy tip then on sports day (yesterday) it was only 300 baht plus caddy tip. Sports day price was advertsied at 500 baht plus caddy fee but my Thai friends said they would not pay that much. Sadly halfway thru yesterdays round I sprained my right arm quite badly and took teh safe option of quitting in teh hope my holiday golf has not come to a premature end. The other course i played here was an army academy course. I hav eplayed army courses before but not as good as this. Really good course, 500 baht. Internet facilities her in NN are a bit limited so I will leav emy full trip report till later. Thanks again for the great hospitality in HH, specially at Bernies. Lovely bar staff there too.
