New Visa requirements

Post by jasonw »

This doesnt pertain to expats already having established residency in Thailand but starting next month any expat wanting to establish residency will have to deposit at least $50,000 US into a Thai Bank and if retired you have to be able to show at least $1500 a month in retirement income. I just back from foreign affairs and it looks like I got more work to do.

Can you expand on this a bit more Jason? I.E., is this for permanent resident qualifications or for normal retirement visas as well. Thanks. Pete

Perhaps correct JJ. :D However, I don't think it's that outrageous for them to about double the bank balance needed. Stranger things have happened here! Pete

Without reference to the source it must surely be an April fools day's joke.
