IF you like to listen to good hi fi and you have already - then bring it, because good quality sound equipment is bloody expensive here and only really available in BKK

A good electric kettle that BOILS the water - the pot boilers here are useless and a good kettle is not easy to find.

If you or your boss  do any ironing - then a good full size ironing board is a must - they are hard to find here. Those that you can buy are made for midgets.

DO NOT bring your TV set and expect it to work here - they don't. Thailand has a PAL system - as does UK - but one is type 'I' and one is type 'H' and needless to say it is bloody impossible to get the change done.

If you ride a bicycle then a few puncture outfits are a boon. If you get a flat you are expected to take the wheel to 'bike shop' - great if you are 20 km from one

Apart from that - patience and a sense of humour go a long way :duck:

A decent iron and toaster would also help.

Are you going to be shipping things out from the UK? If so there are a lot of things I could add to your list

One thing i miss, when i am doing my month at a time stint up at our house in Surin is decent bread,
you can get 1kg bags of hovis flour in Thailand and to have the conveniance of making your own fresh bread fantastic.

I would also take a good qaulity multitool something like a Gerber.

if you are going to be living in Hua Hin then there is plenty of decent bread around - this was not the case a few years ago but of late we seem to have a surfeit of bakers. However this is not the case everywhere in the country and I am sure in many places a bread maker would be most welcome.

I shipped a 40 foot container from the U.S. and I wish I had put my gas BBQ grill in it. I had a great one that similar would cost ten times as much here!
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I would also take a few crates of my favorit tiples Stella and Strongbow because they are so damn expensive in LOS import tax methinks !
If you intend to ride a Thai motor bike (chicken chaser) i would strongly recommend a full face british crash helmet with the British kite mark.
A good british pair of boots DR Martins i love walking and the countryside in the U.K i live in Dibden Purlieu and i am only 500 yards to the New Forest National Park, and in Surin on my wifes farm one day the big seperator was processing the rice from the straw, i was very interested in why i could see air like holes in the red sandy ground so my wife got this round pole with a round spade attachment started to pull all these land crabs out of the ground, i watched with interest and these kids were laughing at me, i did not realise i was standing on a snake, lucky the bugger was dead allready it was a dangerous one and a little dried out i started to jump around like a bloody girl  playing hop scotch, but luckely i had my trusty DM'S on.

Good quality sun glasses i have not come across any in LOS, i were Blocs French sun glasses that can be sorced at Blacks or Millets from £30.00 up wards, i sware by them and have 3 pairs.

I Know this might sound daft but i would consider hi vis vest clothing for family or to make a few quid on you see very little in Thailand.

Your new format is sometimes difficult?
Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'?

I'm not being funny here hobbiecat, but all that I do is move the wheel on my mouse, and scroll up the page.

You are the 3rd person to report this today, but I can't get the thing to go wrong - not surprising as Mods have super powers. The problem has been reported to our development team, but until they can see what goes wrong, they don't know what they need to fix. Please be patient - I'm sure they'll get to the bottom of it.

The error is showing up now on this thread - it says (at top of this page after scrolling up) page 1of1[13posts] but only the latest 3 are displayed so earlier ones not viewable. Does that help to explain it ? - same as Splitlid said.

I have tried to repeat the error logged on as a normal user, and still fail to re-create the problem. I think this one is going to take some time to resolve - I can only apologise for any inconvenience this might be causing.

We are spoiling a very interesting thread here. Can I please request that we get :offtopic: on this thread, and that you continue monitoring the problem here http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/vi ... 96#p166596 , where the it is being reported already.
