To any kite-boarders/surfers, Do you get any decent wind in the summer (May to Sept) ?

i don't know anything about kite surfing, but I struggled to keep my lunch on the plate yesterday due to the wind on the beach.

I see alot of people doing this in jomtien its great to watch and id love to have a go but i looks very hard.

I noticed that after the rain this morning the wind has dropped almost to nothing; it wouldn't have even blown the bill away let alone lunch, so I would have a look at some met. sites before coming over specifically to kite surf.

I'm no expert, but I'd say that the wind is strongest here from Jan-April time. After that, it calms down.
I've met a few kiteboarding instructors from abroad and they always come over here around the first few months of the year.
I'm sure that the competition that BB mentions was held last month because of pretty much guaranteed winds.
