Siam Pearl

Post by richard »

Well my daughters are stuck here thanks to a volcano. There's me worry about the reds and yellows and airport closures and mother nature intervenes and provides them with an additional weeks holiday by the look of it.

Well I started thinking about what to do. They are almost fed up of beaching it everyday though it is good for them to chill out (in this weather???) and forget their pressures in the UK.

Well I gave them a treat on the Siam Pearl. Cruising down to Dolphin bay for a monkey feeding session, swimming, snorkeling and fishing. (Sorry Barry. Will use you next time.)

Anyway it was a great day. Collected from wherever and a gentle cruise on a converted Thai trawler. What really impressed me was the friendliness of the passengers, crew and Kieth (boss). There were Swedes, Danish, Brits and Thais on-board and by the end of the day email addresses were being exchanged and we got together with a Brit family (who are stranded here until Thursday at the earliest) for sundowners at their rented villa.

Good day trip, excellent lunch and pleasant company.

I'm posting this not as an advertisement and I have no connection with the Company, but as advice to those of us who live here and have visitors who suddenly run out of things to do to shop around. The trip caters for old and young so elderly parents would enjoy it

Guess I am a seafarer as the best I've had was a rented converted Thai trawler off Pi Pi which cruised the islands under sail. Not cheap though but I wasn't paying :D :D

LONG MAY THE VOLCANO ERUPT   Of course if it goes on too long we will run into Visa problems :( and they (and I will run out of money) :(

Are you still having trouble loading those Songkran pics here Richard? The girls certainly looked as though they had a great time - and the Siam Pearl day sounds good too. Any pics of that?

I read this morning that immigration is not charging overstay fines for anyone trapped here because the volcano canceled or delayed their flight.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
