Sorry forgot to add

The owner comes from Blackpool and is a staunch Manure supporter

Good stodgy puddings too

Another place I frequent now is the Shed on Naebkehardt. New owner and good cheap grub

Reckon I should apply for a job as Farang grub tester in HH :thumb:

You're to skinny to trust with food reviews Richard. We need someone like Big Boy here to let us know where the really good grub is! :D

Went looking for the fish and chips place last night. Started at the Petchkasem entrance to Soi Salavat but did'nt make it all the way up to Vicotoria 2. Tempting young ladies of various more or less dubious establishments caught my attention - and made me forget all about fish and chips for a while.
Will give it another try soon, starting from the opposite direction near the railroad - may be I'll make it then, may be not.... That Soi 80 can be a hard walk for an honest man...

What has happened to the fish and chips at the place off Canal Road, that was situated in a small hotel/guest house not far from the traffic lights?

This was reported to be easily the best in HH

Apparently, that was the same guy who used to have the one down from the Hilton and the one by the railroad off Soi 68. They were the best I've tasted here but I don't know if he is still operating out of Browns Guest House. I don't get out that way very often as I live at the other end of town.

This place will certainly get tested by my taste buds, now I know it's run by an intellect. :thumb:

Having recently had a pleasure to visit Lins on Phetskasem, I concur with Richard about Lins having excellent f & c. An enormous portion of fish and a hillock of chips. Good white fish and shovelful of mushies.

Lins is well worth a visit when pining for good, solid f & c.

Try Gop's behind Sofitel and just down from Milanos (tailors) - not bad!

Also saw a few days ago a new fish and chip shop which looked in the final stages of being fitted out, roughly opposite Monsoon, close to Barry's Crepes restaurant.

Don't know who's it is or anything.

Are we talking about Gob's here:

I actually was under the impression Gob's was dead and gone about a year since. I doubt there's been a resurrection?
Then again, why would anyone comment on a has-been restaurant?

That's good value Richard, a certain establishment which is no longer allowed to advertise on here, used to charge around 350Baht and that was in 2003

I'm in UK and just about to sit down to some Welsh Black rib of beef with Yorkshires, roasties done in goose fat and all the veg, plus proper gravy made from the meat juices. Apple and pear crumble, with home made (proper stuff with vanilla pod) custard for afters. I will set a place for you.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
