My a truly worried about me going north east on Sunday. I'm now worried too as no aircon

Guess my Isaan report will in melted font
Buy blocks of ice and use a fan. If flush, leave the fridge door open and use a fan. You'll get some rain, guaranteed, and at least that should cool things down in the evenings. Good luck! Pete

PS: Rain in the evening, strip quickly and shower under a downspout. Heaven! :thumb:

guess I'll revert to what I used to do on Kariba in Zimbabwe. Every 30 mins a cold shower (or coldish to warm). Sleep with a wet blanket over me with icebags and during the day don't DO anything and the hard part---------NO BOOZE.

Oh for an English winter

Look forward to your report Richard :)

Don't worry about the "melted font" Richard, Dali did well out of using it.

You could always get a pool shaped like the one he had  A dip in that every hour and you may find you are a new man.

This current heatwave is something else, I know we say this every year but .... "it was never this hot last year"!

You know when its cooking here when:

The fish in your aquarium are boiled alive
You find dead geckos ... stuck to the wall
The Thais are complaining about the heat
You're sweating more than you're drinking
Walking on concrete burns your feet, literally
You can fry an egg on a metal surface left in the sun
The a/c unit struggles to do it's job even when maxed out
People start talking about heat indexes and quoting figures nearing 50

Hua Hin Heat Index: 107 °F / 42 °C

I have only been here 6 years but this is by far the hottest I have known.

As the years go by one gets to thinking that its ones age but thankfully much longer residents than myself of 20 years standing, also agree that this is the hottest April/May

We should all get some relief today. There are huge storms in central, eastern and northeast Thailand at the moment (are you wet yet Richard?) :D Hua Hin also has significant cloud cover per the satellite, which I can't link to for you as may have a virus. Anyway, keep your fingers crossed. Pete

All the rain I was predicting for yesterday fizzled. I think in HH also. Thunder and dark clouds all around us to the north and east over here but not a drop fell.

It's getting serious not only in terms of drought but in terms of safety as well. We had a development Thai worker take a nose dive on the street yesterday from heat exhaustion or stroke. They continue and insist on dressing in layers of clothes saying it makes them cooler  . It didn't make this woman cooler.

35 provinces are now in severe drought. Pete

Much the same in Bangkok, overcast with big black clouds around, but no rain. The tap water is that warm I at first thought the heater was cutting in. It cannot all be put down to old age!!!!
