Ok for many of you guys

I'm stuck in the far north east where it looks as though Clint Eastwood in High Plains Drifter has just passed through Everything red

Thank god I've got plenty of green shirts in my case

Here's a lyrics quiz...from whom? May fit the atmosphere in Bangkok right now. :blues:  Pete

Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bedsetter people look back and lament
Another day's useless energy's spent
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion

I never did in America. Be sure to pass the stories down Richard. They have value the younger kids don't understand unless they hear their music and tales from the people who saw it live. Maybe even then, it's too late. :( Pete

Will do Pete

Here's an easy one

We grew up together,
Two kids in the park,
We carved our initials,
Deep in the bark,
Me and ****.
Now she walks through the door,
With her head held high,
Just for a moment, I caught her eye,
As a big limousine pulled slowly
Out of ****** drive.

Like days of old in a coffee house somewhere, we can take these lyrics and put meaning to them:

Breathe deep the gathering gloom (What most thinking Thai people feel today)
Watch lights fade from every room (Happening to the Thai mentality)
Bedsetter people look back and lament (Red Shirts sitting for months doing nothing)
Another day's useless energy's spent (Ditto)
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one (Thaksin and Pheu Thai)
Lonely man cries for love and has none (Abahasit)
New mother picks up and suckles her son (Can't mention on here)
Senior citizens wish they were young (Ditto)
Cold-hearted orb that rules the night (Western influences)
Removes the colors from our sight (Ditto)
Red is grey and yellow white (Ditto)
But we decide which is right (Thai Democracy)
And which is an illusion (Ditto)

I know it Richard, but had to look it up to be sure so won't divulge. :( I'm really not that good at this, just have a moment from time to time.

If you want to run something, start a thread "Name That Song" in Entertainment. We already have a photo caption competition so should fit in ok.

Can be printed lyrics, or sound tracks on You Tube with title hidden. Answer can be just title, or artist, or both. Up to you. We'll then see who the real music aficionados are on here. :D

If you do run it though like BB runs the photo competition, do the judging, select a winner to post the next lyric/tune.....you have to stick with it thick and thin.....you own it. Pete

Good idea Pete

Not sure I,m the man for the job as too much discipline required and regular access. I do have something up my sleeve for the members who remember the 50s 60s and 70s

Watch this space

If you do it Richard, can I suggest you you cobblr together a few rules and post them from the start - without rules it could go off track very quickly.

Thanks BB

No it will not take the form of a quiz more a splurge of nostalgia to revive the grey matter of older members but to also raise questions from younger members

Not sure of the breakdown of viewers but will give it a roll and see what happens. It will either take off or die

By the way neither of your posts or Pete's have shown up on recent posts. Neither have I received an email

The Entertainment Zone is not one of the Forums that make up the list of recent posts. Recent posts should be reflecting Hua Hin and general Thai subjects.
