This could be a fun outing for those living in Bangkok. Pete

......"The Commerce Ministry is joining with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to organise a walking street on Silom Road from Friday to Sunday for small retailers.

The one-kilometre walking street from the Sala Daeng intersection will accommodate up to 700 stalls for 100 operators from Ratchaprasong, 200 from Pratunam, 200 from Silom and 100 from Victory Monument as well as 100 sellers of low-cost, blue-flag consumer products. Concerts will be staged to entertain shoppers.

"We should help the riot-hit retail operators to stand on their own again. They will offer some discounts up to 70-80% to sell their products," said Yanyong Phuangrach, the permanent secretary to the Commerce Ministry."......

Will the BIB have a stall, selling all those red shirts they took off the protesters?
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

staying in a hotel on Silom at the moment and everyone looking forward to this weekend - they all hope to get a bargain but more importantly they want to show that Bangkok is alive and kicking
