Is there any good snorkling near Hua Hin?

Hello all,

I'll be coming to Hua Hin for about 10 days/nights in October.

Keeping in mind that I'm originally from Hawaii, is there anyplace for good snorkeling around/near Hua Hin i.e. calm clear waters, relatively safe from predators etc?

If you have any info, I'd appreciate it. Please let me know how far from the Hilton in Hua Hin and how much for gear and transportation.

In short no. The nearest place is Bang Saphan which is around 3 hours south. The ocean is clear there and there are a few local islands such as Koh Talu which have good marine life. Then theres Chumphon and Koh Tao around 5 hours away.
