Code: Select all

You need to go into your UCP (user control panel), select board preferences, then Rules, folders & settings, and make sure "delete oldest messages" is selected under "If folder is full". This will allow new PMs to arrive.

Locking this thread, please post any software questions here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=14462

Cannot see Rules under Board Settings, only the following options, and non of these have any reference to folders & settings. Can you help?

Board preferences
» Edit global settings
» Edit posting defaults
» Edit display options
You need to select "private messages", not "board preferences".

And do what?

Inbox 60% full

Sent items 30%

outbox 1%

If an administrator of the site tells me to go downthis route UCP (user control panel), select board preferences, then Rules, folders & settings the settings. What hope have I got. Can anyone else see these setting Rules/folders & settings?

Again this is the error:

You have 1 private message currently on hold because of full folder.
Release all on-hold messages… they will be re-sorted into the appropriate folder if enough space is made available

I do not have any full folders that are visible to me.

I have sent you another PM, the message should change to '2 PMs on hold' or you will get it - please advise which it is.

Please confirm that you do not get the options displayed here: http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/vi ... &start=134

You account maybe corrupt though it is likely to be a settings problem, which just have to find out which.

Hi Lev

Yes received your PM and read it. I do have the options under private message not board settings and they are checked correctly.

However I still have the message below plus a message stuck in the outbox

You have 1 private message currently on hold because of full folder.
Release all on-hold messages… they will be re-sorted into the appropriate folder if enough space is made available.

To deter signature link spamming and PM abuse we have prevented those two functions for newly registered users.

Once ten posts have been made signatures and PMs will become automatically available. Just as a reminder, we do not allow signature links to commercial or competing websites, self promotion via private message is also forbidden.

Can someone tell me if the clock on the right hand side above the Sponsors list is supposed to be showing GMT? Or is it different for each user depending on their location? It isn't showing Thai time (GMT+7) nor UK time (which is currently GMT+1). Or is there some setting I have to change?

It always shows the current time in Thailand as stated towards the bottom of the page "all times are UTC + 7 hours".
For practical purposes UTC=GMT. You may need to refresh your page if it appears slow.

Hmm, mine says 'All times are UTC' which is neither the time here in the UK at the moment nor the time in Thailand! So why is my view different to chopsticks? Would it have anything to do with the server I am connecting through?

UTC is the same as Greenwich Mean Time. It's different because you will be on British Summer Time.

Big Boy,
Thank you for your answer, but it didn't really answer what I asked! Why is it different for chopsticks (his apparently says UTC+7) and me (that says UTC)? As it is a Hua Hin forum shouldn't it be running on Thai time? Or to rerun my old question, is it something to do with wherever a member is connecting from when they visit HHAD? When I am in Hua Hin and log in, will my time display be the same as chopsticks? I am just curious thats all, as it seems odd.

Orange,

What time is shown at the top of your post above this one ? 11:33pm? or can you not see the time only the date ?
If so, that may explain why you are missing the +7 hours part - something to do with your browser width settings perhaps ?
The times and dates shown are those in Thailand and the UTC+7 hours statement is going to be
the same irrespective of where you or your server are located.

Thai time is always UTC +7, and that is what everybody gets - no exceptions.
