Semantics, but in any case, the hydrochloric acid attacks fats by oxidising the remaining C=C bonds - hydrogenation! If it was attacking C-C bonds, then you could live on single chain hydrocarbons and dine at the local Esso station.
The problem with seeking information about bad effects of legal foods is that much of what is published is hyperbole with no science behind it.
Agreed, but if you have the appropriate background in being able to read the source materials, which any moderately well trained scientist in any discipline would have, then hyperbole isn't an issue.
