Hua Hin Regatta will be held from August 3 to 8 2010

1. OCCASION AND ROYAL TROPHIES
Hua Hin Regatta 2010 is an annual sailing event that has been organized since the year 2000 in honor of His Majesty King Bhumiphol Adulyadej who excels in sailing sportsmanship in Thailand. This year’s regatta, the Hua Hin Regatta 2010, will be organized as a competition for several Royal Trophies, namely:
Royal Vega Rudder trophy for varies classes from His Majesty the King.
Super Mod National Championship trophy from His Majesty the King.
OK dinghy National Championship trophy from Her Majesty the Queen.
Princess Cup for Optimist Championship from HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana.

2. ORGANIZING AUTHORITY
The Organizing Authority is Yacht Racing Association of Thailand (YRAT), in conjunction with the Royal Thai Navy, Tourist Authorities of Thailand and the District Authority of Hua Hin.

3. RULES
The Regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2009 - 2012, the Class Rules of respective classes and The Sailing Instructions.

4. ADVERTISING
Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

5. ELIGIBILITY AND FEE
5.1 Entries are open to all members of clubs affiliated to YRAT, individual members of YRAT and members of Clubs and MNA as invited.
5.2 The entry fee is Baht 1,800 (USD 50) per person.

6. EVENT & CLASSIFICATION
6.1 Thailand National Championship 2010 (Thai National only)
Super Mod, OK
6.2 Thailand Open Championship 2010
Optimist, Laser, 420, 470, Hobie /Catamaran, Farr Platu 25
6.3 Royal Vega Rudder Championship
Laser, 420, 470, Hobie /Catamaran, Farr Platu 25

7. SCHEDULE
3 Aug 0900 – 1800 Registration
4 Aug 0900 – 1800 Registration
1300 Practice Race
1900 Opening Ceremony and Party
5 Aug 0930 First Warning day 1
6 Aug 0930 First Warning day 2
7 Aug 0800 Warning signal for Vega Rudder Championship
8 Aug 0930 First warning day 3
1800 Prize Giving and Party

8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available at the registration.

9. VENUE
The venue is at Hua Hin beach, in front of The Sofitel Centara Grand Resort & Villas Hua Hin Hotel, Prachuap Khirikhan Province, about 200 kilometers south of Bangkok.

10. COURSES
10.1 The Championship courses will be trapezoid.
10.2 The Royal Vega Rudder Championship course will be long distance course.

11. PENALTY SYSTEM
11.1 For Hobie / Catamaran and Farr Platu 25, rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changes so that
only one turn, including one tack and one gybe, is required.
11.2 Decisions of the jury will be final as provided in rule 70.5.

12. SCORING
12.1 The Low point System will apply for the Championship events.
12.2 For the Royal Vega Rudder Championship, the Portsmouth Yardstick handicap system will apply.
12.3 Four races are required to be completed to constitute a regatta.

13. CHARTERED BOATS
A limited number of boats and equipment of all classes will be available for charter on a “first come first serve” basis. Self-provided boats and equipment are allowed and are subjected to measurement. The charter fees are as follows:
Optimist USD 60
Super Mod USD 80
OK USD 75
Laser USD 100
420/470 USD 120
Hobie/catamaran USD 150
Farr Platu 25 USD 800
A damage deposit of USD 100 (Platu USD 300) is required and will be returned if no damage.

14. PRIZES
14.1 Beside the Royal Trophies, additional prizes may be rewarded according to entry numbers.
14.2 Replicas of the Perpetual Vega Rudder Royal Trophy will be presented to the winner and five runner-up boats.

Hi mo1

That's a pretty general question - if you could be a bit more specific, e.g. what size of boat you're looking for, we may be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks for your reply Barrys, I sailed a Sabre class dingy for a few years
in Melbourne I am not familiar with what they have available here I guess
looking at the regatta list of boats the OK class will be the one that is
close to it??
