Drunken Aussie Takes Croc for a Ride,

Post by migrant »

AOL News (July 13) -- Talk about a hangover.

A man who had too much to drink is recovering today after he attempted to ride a 16-foot saltwater crocodile at a zoo in Australia and was bitten in the leg.

The 36-year-old man broke into the wildlife park after he was thrown out of a bar. He tried to sit on one of the crocodiles, named Fatso, and give him a pat on the head. Police say Fatso didn't appreciate the gesture and bit him.

"Fatso has taken offense to this and has spun around and bit this man on the right leg," Sgt. Roger Haynes of Broome said in a press conference.

The man is lucky to be alive.

Fatso, a 16-foot (5 meter) long saltwater crocodile, lies next to the flashlight left by a drunken tourist who scaled a barbed wire fence at the Broome Crocodile Park in northwest Australia to pat him. When the 36-year-old sat on Fatso's back, the crocodile turned around and bit him on the leg. The man survived.
"Saltwater crocodiles ... once they get hold of you, are not renowned for letting you go," Haynes said, according to The Associated Press.

The zoo's owner, Malcolm Douglas, said the cool weather may have saved the man's life. "They're cold-blooded animals, so their reflexes slow down," Douglas told The Australian. "If it had been a hot night, he would have been dead."

After sustaining a nasty flesh wound, the man headed back to the bar where he had been kicked out before his reptilian romp. Mark Phillips, the bar's manager, told the BBC that the man returned to the pub that night with pieces of bark sticking out of his leg. He's expected to fully recover.

Top Croc??

Well, there's silly and there's.........asylum escapees.

Perhaps a psychological evaluation might be in order, along with a CAT scan of this head. Maybe the cops should check that he's not actually in charge of anything if he works somewhere.

Funny that he's probably just going to be released from hospital to wonder around again and get pissed-up at his discretion with the inevitable result of going and taking a running jump into the alcoholic abyss again.

Question

Well is it more dangerous than jumping on a sleeping BG in the morning after she has been paid?

Pity "Fatso" wasn't real hungry although if he ate him he would probably have been sick from the f--cked up DNA.

I can see a pattern emerging here:

Since old Steve Irwin died you Ozzies have all gone batshit crazy and forgotten that crocs aint cuddly

Now Miss Australia has been attacked by one:

Very fun s/m . Someone should have told you that Q'landers are at the best a little strange - something to do with the sun and as for Eric - what would you do ? Have chew on some rotting chicken or the delectable Ms Finch ??
PS loosing - losing (you lose the o).

When Miss Finch was allowed inside Eric's enclosure to watch him being fed, the reptile, who was supposed to be enjoying a lunch of raw chicken at the time, lunged at her.

Startled by the sudden move, she jumped out of the way and ran to safety.
Later, the former model laughed off the encounter.
"As soon as I saw him move I got nervous," she said.
Miss Finch, who hails from Queensland, told the Northern Territory News that the incident was one of the more unusual events she has been involved in since being announced the Australian winner of the Miss Universe contest in April.
Charlie Manolis, Crocodylus Park spokesman, said Eric the crocodile had been removed from a river three years ago after he began "looking at fishermen the wrong way".
